Uses: The whole stalk of the broccoli rabe, as well as the leaves and blossoms, are edible, but you may want to trim off the base of the stem as it can be woody. If it is especially thick-stemmed, you can trim or shave off the toughest parts and discard them. Use in a stir fry or make a simple side dish by braising or sautéing with garlic and onion.
