Uses: Edamame (fresh soybeans) are a fun snack or appetizer. To prepare, remove the pods from the stems and boil or steam them. To boil:  bring a pot of salted water to a boil, drop the pods in and boil for 3-5 minutes. To steam using a steamer basket: bring an inch of water to a boil, then place the steamer basket in with the pods; cover and steam for 5-10 minutes. Drain and toss with salt and a generous amount of pepper. Serve warm or chilled in the seasoned pods, but the pods are not edible. Serve with an empty bowl on the side for the pods.
