Uses: Red onions have a sweet flavor and crunchy texture and are best served raw. You could use them in cooking in a pinch, but they would not be as strong as cooking onions, and wouldn’t make the most of their character. Thinly slice or dice them and add to sandwiches, salads, or salsas. When quick-pickled, red onions develop a vibrant pink color and make a colorful garnish for casseroles, burgers, tacos, wraps, or burritos.
